The Scottish Life Underwriters’ Club has been putting on events from the 1980’s, mixing social contact with educational industry presentations. The club has been a big success over the years with members representing the direct offices, reassurers and third party providers. Events have been held at various venues in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Moving forward, the club is keen to represent both Claims and Underwriting equally. To mark this change the club is rebranding to become The Forum Of Claims & Underwriting Scotland (FOCUS).
The forum will continue to promote business and social contact between persons actively engaged in Life and Disability Underwriting and Claims, particularly by meeting and dining together. It aims to initiate and promote knowledge, education and good practice on risk management matters and to make recommendations on risk management by the establishment of working groups to consider specific issues and the forging of links with other bodies. We hope the new forum, with our experienced committee,will take the club forward but still maintain its focus on social contact and education.
