As FOCUS supporters you will know of our commitment to education and that we have offered sponsorship opportunities to underwriters and claims assessors who wish to pursue attainment of CII qualifications.
Our commitment to ongoing education opportunities is undiminished. However, with the uncertainty around CII qualifications going forwards, the committee would like to offer a different opportunity this year.
The current situation with Covid 19 has brought with it an unexpected opportunity, which could be a last chance thing. As you may be aware, there is uncertainty around CII qualifications going forward and the last Claims Diploma (P62 ) and Underwriting Diploma (P61) which were due to be sat in April have been postponed until October. So, as things stand there is a narrow window to apply to enter the exam and if your employer will not support this then you can apply to FOCUS to sponsor you.
Essentially, FOCUS will fund the cost of the exam, which includes training materials and the FOCUS education officers are available to support you. Other costs are not included and are the responsibility of the individual to manage (perhaps in conjunction with their employer).
The current date for the claims module (P62) will be 12th October 2020, but clearly this may change. The exam is taken at an examination centre of your choice.

Requirements to apply for Sponsorship:
- The individual seeking sponsorship should be an employee of a FOCUS member company or hold an individual membership.
- The individual agrees to allow the FOCUS Committee to update their name as “currently sponsored” on our website.
- The individual seeking sponsorship is committed to completing the 100 hours+ study in their own time. In the event that the individual does not attend the exam, the FOCUS Committee reserves the right to request repayment of the sponsorship outlays from the individual.
- The FOCUS Committee members will not apply for sponsorship.
