Education

The “education of members” is a fundamental purpose of the Forum and this is demonstrated by having two members of the Committee dedicated to this area.

Paul Washbourne (Munich Re) is the Claims Education Officer and Toni Liddell (Royal London) is the Underwriting Education Officer. Paul and Toni together with the rest of the Committee will be working together to ensure the Forum meets the needs of the membership. As a snapshot, we’ll be looking at:

• The needs of the membership in terms of education and asking you for your opinion. Supporting these needs and seeking assistance to meet these aims with external bodies such as local insurance institutes, AMUS and the CII.
• Presentations and Updates – ensuring these are topical, interesting and delivered in the manner that the membership needs. Ensuring there is access to educational information including previous presentations and researching other ways membership can access information.
• External qualifications such as the CII examination and the Claims and Underwriting diplomas and how we can help our members in this regard.
• Highlighting the intrinsic benefits to business of claims and underwriting working closely together.
